Mamata Banerjee Protests Against Attacks on TMC Leaders in Kolkata's Esplanade

After the change of power in West Bengal, the political temperature has risen after the infighting within Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the attack on party leaders. The news of the breakup of TMC has now started to come out in the open, after which a new challenge has emerged for Mamata Banerjee. Meanwhile, former CM Mamata Banerjee has reached the protest site at Y-channel of Kolkata's Esplanade to protest against the attack on party workers and senior leaders. Abhishek Banerjee and many MLAs are also present with her. Kolkata Police did not allow Mamata Banerjee to protest on Monday (1 June 2026). Even after this, the former Bengal CM has arrived to protest. Sitting on the sit-in, Mamata Banerjee said,'Police in Bengal are threatening TMC leaders. During her tenure, I stood with all the people even if their ideology did not match my party.'She issued a final challenge to the BJP, saying,'Will fight or die '. Referring to the attack on Abhishek Banerjee, Mamata Banerjee said that the BJP president had'never asked for help'on the phone call.
