Mamata Banerjee's Job Promise to I-PAC Employees Sparks Controversy Ahead of West Bengal Elections

The election campaign is at its peak ahead of the first phase of polling in West Bengal's assembly elections. The leaders of the ruling Trinamool Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party are not leaving any chance to attack each other. In this connection, now the Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari has called a promise of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee ridiculous. Mamata Banerjee said a day before, on Sunday (April 19), that she would give jobs to the Kolkata-based employees of the'Indian Political Action Committee'( I-PAC). I-PAC has temporarily stopped its work in the state for 20 days and instructed the employees of its office in Kolkata to go on "short leave." Addressing an election meeting at the Directorate of Enforcement in Hooghly district, Mamata Banerjee claimed that she had discussed the matter with the I-PAC's office staff member Abhishek Banerjee.
