Mamata Banerjee's 15-year rule in Bengal has come to an end. The Trinamool Congress has suffered a crushing defeat in the land of Bengal. The TMC, which won 215 seats in the last assembly elections, was reduced to 80 seats this time. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee could not even save her seat. She was defeated in Bhabanipur. Bhabanipur, which was considered Mamata's stronghold, was defeated by BJP's Suvendu Adhikari by 15105 votes. Suvendu got 73917 votes while Mamata got 58812 votes and came second. First the counting of poster ballots began, in which Mamata was ahead. Then the counting of EVMs began, in which Mamata was also ahead. Mamata Banerjee continued to lead till the 15th round of poster ballots. However, in the second round, Mamata was behind by about 2000 votes. After this, Mamata continued to lead till the 15th round. From the 16th round, Suvendu Adhikari moved ahead, however, the margin of 56,235 votes between the two was also increased.
