Mamdani Clarifies Stance on RSS Chief's NYC Event Amid Controversy

The controversy over New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's Madison Square Garden event in the US has intensified. Mamdani has clearly said that he does not support the event, although he also admitted that the city may not have the right to cancel this private event. After this statement, many people including BJP leader Ram Kadam, singer Mary Millben and Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy have criticized Mamdani. The RSS has also clarified the whole matter. In fact, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat arrived in the US on Tuesday. His visit is part of the Sangh's centenary year global outreach campaign and he will also go to Canada and Britain. In America, he will address about five thousand people at Madison Square Garden on 29 August. The event has been named "Universal Oneness Celebration" and is being organized by an organization named AAhead Forum. According to the organization, this event is being organized to present a positive image of India, Hindu society and RSS.
