In Maharashtra, the political storm has intensified after the statement of Maratha quota agitation leader Manoj Jarange Patil about the alleged transaction of Rs 500 crore. Jarange has alleged that Rs 500 crore was offered to stop the Maratha movement and silence him. He has demanded an investigation into the matter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. During a press conference in Jalna on Thursday, Manoj Jarange narrated an alleged audio clip. He claimed that it contains a conversation related to conspiring against him and weakening the Maratha movement. According to Jarange, the alleged conversation mentions a payment of Rs 500 crore through Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde. Jarange alleged that a conspiracy is being hatched against him for the last three years and an attempt is being made to shut down the Maratha movement. He warned that if the investigation is not done soon, he will release another audio clip in the next one or two months. He said that if the truth of the case of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is not revealed, then Chandrashekhar Lange, the BJP leader, will also give him solid evidence.
