Meloni Slams Trump's 'Childish' Behavior in Global Diplomacy Spat

In global diplomacy, it is common to have differences between leaders, but when it turns into a war of words, the matter becomes serious. In an interview with an Italian TV channel La7, Meloni claimed in her familiar style that she was probably very happy that Trump spoke to her. Not only this, Trump even said that Meloni was begging to be photographed with him, she was so desperate that she had to be photographed out of pity. Now Meloni took strong objection to this and expressed disappointment in Trump's understanding and his behavior. She said on Friday (19 June 2026) that such behavior with a global ally is surprising. She also pointed fingers at Trump's foreign policy and said that Trump takes a very soft stance in front of the real enemies of the West and America, but behaves in such a childish way with his own friends. If you look at this whole controversy from a political point of view, it is considered to be the biggest fanfare between the two presidents in Europe 2025. Meloni was never involved in the swearing-in ceremony.
