Military Might Alone Can't Solve Political Problems: Expert

Military might cannot solve political problems, says expert. The recent conflict between Iran, the US and Israel has also affected the global balance of power with West Asia. This was discussed in a lecture organised by the Centre for West Asian Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia, on The Iran War and its Implications for West Asia and World Politics. During the lecture, Dr. Dhananjay Tripathi, Associate Professor, South Asian University, said that it is not enough to look at the conflict only from a military point of view. Its strategic, economic, ideological and emotional aspects are also important. Military action is not necessarily a permanent solution to political problems. The session discussed the stated objectives of the US and the consequences of the conflict, the growing role of China, the sustainability of Iran's economy and India's balancing policy. The lecture was also chaired by Prof. H.A. Nazmur Rahman, Director, Centre for Energy, Strategic and Diplomatic Interests of India.
