Modi's High-Voltage Visit to Abu Dhabi Secures India's Energy and Defense Needs

Abu Dhabi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's short but very high-voltage visit to the UAE of just 2.50 hours has opened new doors of progress for India. Amid the ongoing war in West Asia and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, PM Modi has signed several important agreements with the rulers of Abu Dhabi to secure India's energy and defence needs. LPG and oil reserves: Relief from inflation for the common man? The biggest benefit for India has been in the energy sector. As per the agreement between Indian Oil (IOCL) and ADNOC, now the UAE will supply 40% of India's LPG requirements on a long-term and priority basis. This will reduce the impact on Indian consumers despite rising prices in the global market. In addition, the UAE will store more oil on Indian soil under the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which will prove to be a disaster for India in a war-like situation.
