Located on the banks of the Ramganga River in the western part of Uttar Pradesh (Rohilkhand region), Moradabad district is known worldwide as the Brass City. Be it brass or wood, the handicraft products made here are famous all over the world. At the same time, Muradabadi Biryani is a different recipe in itself, which non-vegetarian lovers eat with great relish. Speaking of politics, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi's in-law is also Moradabad. This district is adjacent to the border of Uttarakhand. Nainital is very close to here. Apart from being the divisional office of the Northern Railway, airport facilities are now available here. Famous as'Chaupala'in ancient times, this city was captured by Rustam Khan, the governor of Sambhal in 1624 AD. Later it was founded by Murad Baksh, the son of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, after whom it was named. In the first war of independence of 1857, the local Nawab of Moradabadi and the common people of Moradabadi also grew sugarcane and wheat on a large scale.
