Murder Case Turns into Ethnic Politics as Police Confronted at Funeral

After the encounter of Kamlesh Chaudhary, the main accused in the murder of hotelier's son Vineet Rai in UP's Ghazipur, the whole case has now turned into ethnic politics. The day after the encounter, the police have been attacked and stoned during the funeral. After the murder of Vineet Rai on 29 May in the case, an FIR was registered on 30 May. On 2 June, the police announced a reward of 50 thousand rupees on the accused. On 3 June, Kamlesh Chaudhary was killed. During the funeral on 4 June, Kamlesh's supporters threw stones at the police, in which 4 policemen were injured. SP Iraj Raja warned, "Strict action will be taken against the troublemakers." On 29 May, businessman Vineet Rai was killed, after which there was a demand for action against the accused. On 30 June, the police announced a reward of 50 thousand on the accused. On 3 June, the police named Kamlesh Chaudhary's name was mentioned in the encounter. On 4 June, the Samajwadi Party MP Virendra Singh accused the police of serious assault on Kamlesh's funeral.
