Ukhrul: A member of the Naga Village Guard (NVG) was reportedly killed in an ambush near Sinakeithei village in Ukhrul district early Friday morning. According to the Working Committee of the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), the deceased has been identified as Horshokmi Jamang (29) of Chatric Khullen village in Kamjong district. The organisation alleged that he was killed in an ambush by cadres operating under the Suspension of Operations (SoO) arrangement while on patrol. Jamang is survived by his wife and a 10-month-old daughter. The incident reportedly occurred during a routine patrol by the Naga Village Guards between Sirarakhong and Sinakeithei, following reports of movement and disturbances in the area. The patrol team was ambushed, resulting in Jamang’s death on the spot, the TNL stated.
