Malaysia's attorney general's office issued a statement on Friday saying that the process of transferring the former prime minister from prison to house arrest has been temporarily halted. The case requires further clarification on some legal aspects. Najib will remain in prison until these issues are resolved. Earlier, local media had claimed that he had left prison and reached his home. The King of Malaysia granted Najib a royal pardon in September. He was then allowed to serve the remainder of his first corruption sentence under house arrest. However, this relief was granted with certain conditions. Najib's first sentence was 12 years, which was reduced to six years in January 2024. His sentence was also reduced to a fine of 210 million ringgit to 50 million ringgit. Under the terms of his house arrest, he was required to pay a fine. The United Malays National Party (U.N.M.N.O.), through the United National Organisation for Justice (UNOF) campaign fund, told Asaduzzaman Asaduzzaman on Friday.
