Kolkata: Former West Bengal Chief Secretary Nandini Chakraborty has been assigned an important responsibility in the BJP government led by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. Nandini Chakraborty was removed from her post by the Election Commission of India after the dates of the recently concluded state assembly elections were announced. A source in the current state secretariat based in Nabanna said that Nandini Chakraborty has been retained in her existing post of Principal Coordinator of Development Works. The post is directly under the Chief Minister's Office but she has been assigned special and separate responsibilities. According to sources, Nandini Chakraborty as Principal Coordinator of Development Works will have the biggest task. This first task will be to smoothly complete the process of land transfer to the Border Security Force for erecting barbed wire fencing along the international border with Bangladesh in the state. Nandini Chakraborty is an experienced officer. In the first meeting of the state cabinet led by Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on 11 May, a proposal was passed to complete the land transfer to the BSF within the next 45 days for this purpose.
