NCP (SP) working president Supriya Sule on Friday (July 10) dismissed speculations of her party merging with the Congress. She said, "There has been no such proposal between the two parties and both parties will continue to work together as allies. NCP (SP) and Congress are constituents of the opposition alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra and'India'alliance at the national level. NCP (SP) is not involved in any merger talks. Neither have we received any proposal from Congress nor have we given any proposal to them regarding merger. NCP (SP) and Congress have cordial relations. Both parties coordinate regularly on political issues." The Lok Sabha MP from Baramati said, "Whenever I come to Delhi, I take time to meet (Congress MP) Priyanka Gandhi and we discuss political, social and economic developments of Maharashtra together. We are also working with Congress leaders in Maharashtra and (NCP) and we have been discussing various committees (of the Congress) regularly."
