NDA Allies Demand Clarification from Election Commission Amid Controversy

Amid the alleged rift within the Election Commission and the revelations related to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list, now 3 NDA allies have also demanded clarification from the Election Commission. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief and Union Minister Chirag Paswan, Rashtriya Lok Morcha president Upendra Kushwaha and Telugu Desam Party Lok Sabha floor leader Lavu Srikrishna Devarayalu have sought a clear answer on the apprehensions related to the Election Commission. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) Chirag Paswan made it clear that he is neither speaking on behalf of the Election Commission nor supporting the allegations of the opposition. But he said that the questions that arose in the minds of the public after the current controversy should be addressed by the Election Commission. Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) chief Upendra Kushwaha also demanded an immediate clarification, while Telugu Desam Party (TDP) floor leader in the Lok Sabha Lavu Srikrishna Devarayalu said that transparency will help strengthen trust in constitutional institutions. These comments from the ruling NDA allies at the Centre were claimed by Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Sandhu in an Indian Express report less than 10 months after the election.
