Bollywood actors Saif Ali Khan and Pratik Gandhi have teamed up for Netflix’s ‘Hum Hindustani’, a story inspired by the true events from India’s first-ever election. In newly independent India, a team of officials battles chaos, resistance, and impossible odds to deliver the nation’s very first democratic election in this Rahul Dholakia directorial. The first look teaser of ‘Hum Hindustani’ was unveiled by Netflix today, and it has left fans excited! Hum Hindustani First Look Out The first look teaser of Hum Hindustani is set in newly independent India in 1950 and opens with Saif Ali Khan’s character delivering a powerful speech. He tells the crowd that in America at the time, people of colour were denied the right to vote. He then declared that India is about to undertake something that has never been done anywhere in the world- universal adult suffrage. The teaser then shows a glimpse of Pratik Gandhi’s character as a police officer. As a rebellion aimed at stopping democracy erupts, Pratik Gandhi is tasked with stopping those opposing the democratic process. Inspired by true events, Hum Hindustani portrays the story of how India conducted its very first democratic elections against all odds. Check out the first look teaser below! Written and directed by Rahul Dholakia, Hum Hindustani is produced by Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani under the Emmay Entertainment banner. It stars Saif Ali Khan, Pratik Gandhi, Deepak Dobriyal, Mimi Chakraborty, Sarika, Shraddha Dangar. It will premiere on Netflix, however, a release date hasn’t been announced yet.
