The New Delhi Railway Police has busted a major child trafficking gang and arrested eight people. Among the arrested accused is the gang's kingpin, Preeti. The police action was possible after a chase of nearly 300 kilometers and scanning footage from hundreds of CCTV cameras. During this operation, the abducted innocent child was also recovered safely. According to DCP Bharat Reddy, on 24 March, information was received that an innocent child had been kidnapped from the New Delhi Railway Station. The child's mother works at the railway station. As soon as the information was received, the railway police registered an FIR and started investigating the matter. The biggest challenge before the police was to find the child as soon as possible. During the investigation, footage from hundreds of CCTV cameras of the railway station and nearby areas was scanned. The footage showed a woman taking the child with her. Subsequently, the police started tracking the identity and location of the woman. The investigation revealed that the gang members were constantly changing their e-rickshaws to avoid the police from following another bus.
