When Rohit became the president of the Allahabad University Students Union in 2016-17, he first opened a front against the then vice-chancellor of the university, Prof. Rattan Lal Hangloo. There was a furious movement led by Rohit Mishra alleging financial irregularities against the advertising chancellor and Rohit had to go to jail. However, the effect of the movement was that the then vice-chancellor had to give up his chair. In view of Rohit's strong hold among the university students, he was made the convener of central universities in the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and then also the national minister. Adarohit is currently in charge of'One Nation, One Election'in Madhya Pradesh. Originally from Pratapgarh's Harshpur Kotwa Lalganj, Rohit graduated from the University of Allahabad and Amar Ujala from the University of Allahabad.
