The ongoing controversy over the construction of an elevated flyover in the Nirsa area on the Delhi-Kolkata GT Road has now snowballed into a political confrontation. Amid the tussle over the credit for the project, BJP MP Dhullu Mahato has levelled serious and scathing allegations against the MLA of the area, Arup Chatterjee. MP Dhullu Mahato said that Nirsa MLA Arup Chatterjee is only working for political gains and has no real concern for the development of the area. He alleged that attempts are being made to obstruct the development work, which is completely wrong and against the law. Dhullu Mahato in his statement said that people who become MLAs on compassionate grounds do not understand the problems of the public and development work. He targeted MLA Arup Chatterjee, saying that he is not serious about development and is only doing politics of personal interests. The MP even called him a "fake man" and said that he has no concrete role or warning associated with the development work. He also said that if any public representative tries to obstruct the development work, he will be punished.
