Odisha Electronics and Information Technology Minister Mukesh Mahaling targeted the previous BJD government over issues related to Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC), stating that the organisation was functioning under the earlier administration’s framework. His remarks came in response to protests led by the Congress over concerns regarding transparency within OCAC. Addressing the matter, the Minister asserted that it is the time to restructure and modernise OCAC . He maintained that the current situation reflects the legacy systems followed during the tenure of the previous government, indicating the need for reforms. Minister Mukesh Mahaling said, "When issues related to OCAC, including allegations of corruption and problems in virtual classrooms came to light, I sought an ‘action taken report’ from the departmental secretary to be submitted within seven days." He further stated that the system was functioning under the previous government’s framework, making reforms necessary, and added that its functioning would be reviewed and steps would be taken to ensure a transparent and corruption-free system. Responding to concerns over transparency , Mahaling assured that all future tender processes of OCAC will be conducted in a completely transparent manner. This assurance comes amid criticism and political reactions surrounding the organisation’s functioning. The developments indicate a likely overhaul in the functioning of OCAC, with a focus on transparency, restructuring, and administrative reforms in the near future.
