One Vote Makes All the Difference in Gumla Municipal Council Election

An example of the importance of one vote in a democracy was seen in Jharkhand. One vote played a decisive role in the election for the post of President of Gumla Municipal Council. Three candidates stood in the fray. Ramesh Kumar Chini was declared elected for the post of President of Gumla Municipal Council after winning by just one vote. A total of three candidates were nominated in the election for the post of President of Gumla Municipal Council. Manish Kumar, Musarrat Parveen and Ramesh Kumar Chini were among them. Ramesh Kumar Chini got 10 votes, while Manish Kumar got 9 and Musarrat Parveen got 3 votes in the vote count after voting. As soon as the election results were announced, supporters of Chini were jubilant. Ramesh Kumar Chini was declared the winner and congratulated. Earlier, the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected ward councillors of Municipal Council Gumla was held in the auditorium. After this, the process of indirect election for the post of Vice President of Municipal Council was completed. On 14th March, from 6 am to 6 pm, the office of the Rajiv Sub-Divisional Magistrate was set up in the premises.
