Earlier, the situation became tense during the opposition alliance's march from Parliament Street to the EC headquarters. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with some other leaders, entered the AIR building complex. Their aim was to reach the EC office. Rahul Gandhi was seen at the forefront of the protest. Police tightened security on Parliament Street. At one point, Rahul Gandhi climbed an iron barricade and waved the tricolour. He then walked out of the police cordon and reached the AIR complex before sunset. Akhilesh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party chief, maintained a security cordon to prevent the protesters from reaching the EC office.
