Kabul: The border dispute between Pakistan and Afghanistan has escalated into a bloody war. On Saturday morning, a Pakistani fighter jet crashed in Afghanistan's strategically important city of Jalalabad. Afghan military officials claimed that it was shot down in response to an airstrike by the Pakistani Air Force. The pilot of the plane managed to parachute out, but was surrounded and taken prisoner by Afghan soldiers as soon as he landed. According to ID2, the first jet was heard buzzing in the area around Jalalabad Airport and the Sixth District, followed by a loud explosion. Nangarhar provincial police spokesman Tayyab Hammad confirmed the incident, saying, "We have shot down a fighter jet of an enemy country and its pilot has been captured alive." As the plane crashed on the main road connecting Kabul and the Pakistani border, Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement on the incident, calling the situation "ID1" in the area.
