The government has withdrawn the review petition filed yesterday against the decision of the Pakistani Supreme Court to shift the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan to the hospital. The Chief Commissioner of Islamabad had filed a review petition against the decision in the Supreme Court. The review petition filed by the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad has been withdrawn after the Registrar of the Supreme Court pointed out technical flaws in the review petition. Earlier, Imran Khan's lawyer had reached Adiala Jail and handed over a certified copy of the Supreme Court's 18 August order to Senior Superintendent Sajid Baig. Imran Khan's lawyer made it clear that the court's directives should be followed immediately. The Inspector General (IG) of Punjab Prisons and SP Sadar of Rawalpindi were also sent letters asking to make all necessary security arrangements. A three-judge bench headed by Shahid Waheed had granted relief on Imran's health petition. The Supreme Court of Pakistan had directed that Imran Khan be shifted from Adiala Jail to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad. In addition, a review petition was filed on behalf of the Imran Khan family on behalf of the Supreme Court.
