Pakistan Warns Iran to Stop Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia Amid Escalating Tensions

Amid increasing Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, Pakistan has issued a major warning to Iran. Pakistan is reported to have sent a message to Tehran over the past 24 hours asking it to use its influence to get the Houthis to stop attacking Saudi Arabia. The message to Iran comes after the Houthis recently attacked Saudi oil facilities. Pakistan's intervention is seen as significant because it has long maintained its ties with both Saudi Arabia and Iran. Islamabad now fears that the proxy war could escalate into a major regional security crisis if the Houthi attacks escalate further. A senior Iranian official confirmed that Pakistan had conveyed its message to Tehran on Tuesday. Iran responded, however, according to two Iranian sources. According to them, Saudi Arabia had promised to pay the Houthis additional weapons and money last week.
