For the elections to be held on refugee seats in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), Pakistan's Union Communications Minister Aleem Khan's party Ishteqam Pakistan Party (IPP) has allied with Pakistan Muslim League-Marxist, the political wing of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. Under the alliance, Lashkar-e-Taiba's political wing will support the party of Aleem Khan, the Communications Minister in the government of Pakistani Shehbaz Sharif, on two so-called refugee reserved seats in Lahore. In return, Lashkar-e-Taiba will be supported by Ishteqam Pakistan Party on the seats of PoK, which Lashkar is fighting under its other name Jammu Kashmir United Movement (JKUM). Also in Lahore, the alliance was announced by Lashkar-e-Taiba's political wing's Lahore secretary general and US-designated terrorist Hameed ul Hassan and Punjab province president of Ishteqam Pakistan Party (IPP) and former union minister Rana Nazir Ahmed Khan.
