Imran Khan has consistently alleged that the US was behind his removal from power, but the reasons and consequences of this hostility are much deeper. Imran Khan's troubles increased when he waved a white paper (diplomatic letter) at a public meeting, claiming that the US had threatened to remove him from power. What was the charge? According to Imran, US diplomat for South Asian Affairs Donald Lu told the Pakistani ambassador that if the no-confidence motion against Imran Khan was successful, Pakistan would be pardoned, or else he would have to face'consequences'in the case of the February 2022 Cypriot attack on Ukraine.
