Amid the ongoing internal crisis within the ruling National Conference (NC), the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially barred its spokespersons and key functionaries from talking to the media about any political developments. PDP general secretary Mohammad Khurshid Alam, in a formal directive issued on 3 November, has asked all party leaders, constituency in-charges, and district presidents not to make any statements to the media or participate in any news debates regarding political developments. The order, issued on the advice of chief spokesperson Dr. Mehboob Beg, states, "Please refrain from making statements to the media and engaging in media discussions. This directive should be taken very seriously." The ban has been imposed at a very sensitive juncture of Jammu and Kashmir politics. The move comes close on the heels of Srinagar MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi's sudden resignation from the National Conference and his Lok Sabha seat. The PDP has decided to ban media interactions as it wants to ensure a well-coordinated, well-coordinated and well-coordinated party leadership.
