Pellet Guns Used During Student Protests in Delhi: Former Home Minister P Chidambaram

Former Home Minister P Chidambaram has said that pellet guns were used during the student protests in Delhi. Someone will be directly responsible for this incident, someone will be indirectly responsible and someone must be held accountable. He said that the Home Minister does not know which of these categories he belongs to, but either he is directly responsible or indirectly responsible. Speaking to India Today, Congress MP P Chidambaram said that I do not remember any occasion when pellet guns were used by the security forces in all of India except Jammu and Kashmir during my tenure as Home Minister. If someone reminds me of an incident in this regard, I will reply. He said that there is a separate standard operation procedure for its use in Jammu and Kashmir. He was reminded that pellet guns were introduced in Jammu and Kashmir during his tenure. The former Home Minister said that he is not using guns in comparison to the peaceful protests in Delhi 16 years ago.
