With the opening of the expressway, travel time between Meerut and Prayagraj will be reduced from the current 10–12 hours to approximately 6 hours. He noted that the 594 km project, built with an investment of around ₹36,230 crore and designed for speeds up to 120 km/h, reflects the scale of modern infrastructure development in the country. He added that the expressway will improve connectivity, reduce travel time, and strengthen freight efficiency, while also promoting the use of digital systems for better tolling and operations management. The Ganga Expressway passes through 12 districts in Uttar Pradesh, creating a strong and seamless road network. This wide reach will improve connectivity and support development across multiple regions of the state. The project will connect a total of 519 villages, helping to accelerate economic activities in both rural and urban areas across Uttar Pradesh.
