Punjab Assembly: Opposition Demands More Time for Bill Discussion

Leader of Opposition Partap Bajwa said that three days time should be given for the bill. What is happening to us is what the Jathedar said. What is the point of bringing the nine bills so soon. The House should be extended by a few days. This shows that we are not showing any interest. The Speaker said that the bill should have been given 15 days ago. The Opposition has demanded to increase the time of the House for discussion on the bills. Congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira said that one day is not enough to discuss these bills. The House is likely to be noisy. The government can introduce the Cloud University Hoshiarpur Bill-2026, the MS Digital University Patiala Bill-2026 and the Physicswala Digital University Patiala Bill-2026. Apart from this, the Punjab Common Infrastructure (Regulation and Maintenance) Amendment Bill-2026 can also be brought in the House. Through this, the provisions of the Vehicle Sales (Special Purpose Vehicle, SPV) Exemption and Financial Stability of Service (Punjab) Bill 2026 have been amended.
