In Punjab, the tussle between the government employees and the state government continues to escalate. Angry over the non-acceptance of their demands, the employees will go on mass leave in all government offices of Punjab and Chandigarh today. Government employees, who were on a state-wide strike on August 27 demanding DA, have now announced a strike on Tuesday as well. Employees leader Khaira said that the Ministerial Staff Association and other employee organizations had demanded payment of pending Dearness Allowance (DA) of employees and pensioners and withdrawal of show-cause notices issued to the striking employees by taking mass leave. The employee leaders had given time till September 7 to the government to withdraw the notice letter. If not, the employees were warned of a mass strike on September 8. They said that the employees are not going to be afraid of a day's salary cut. The employees say that their pending DA is more than a day's cut. According to the information, the employees can sit on strike wearing black clothes against the attack on Mohanjeet in Chandigarh-Mohali.
