Punjab's AAP Government Under Fire Over Suicide Incident, Alleged Police-Nexus Corruption

Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia has hit out at the Aam Aadmi Party government over the suicide of a man in Punjab's Sangrur. He alleged that the situation in Sangrur is constantly deteriorating and the common man is so forced that even after complaining to the police, he does not get relief. Bikram Majithia said that Sangrur is the home district of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Such incidents here raise questions about the functioning of the government. He called it a direct failure of Bhagwant Mann's government. According to Majithia, this is the third such incident in Sangrur in the last 14 days. Majithia also attacked the government over the drug situation in Punjab. He alleged that after the Aam Aadmi Party government came to power, the delivery of drugs is faster than pizzas and burgers. He said that allegations of a nexus between the police and political people in Sangrur are coming to the fore and the Akali leader has also raised questions about the police system after the Sangrur by-election.
