Punjab's Electoral Roll Revision Completes First Phase Ahead of Assembly Elections

The first phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Punjab has been completed, about five months before the Assembly elections in Punjab. The Election Commission will release the draft electoral rolls on 13 August. The names of 20.66 lakh voters included in the June 2026 electoral rolls will not be included in the draft rolls for various reasons. Of these, about 9.55 lakh voters have permanently migrated out of the state.
