Putin and Trump Discuss Ceasefire in Ukraine and Nuclear Agreement with Iran

The consequences of any military action by the United States or Israel in the Middle East could be extremely serious and damaging. New Delhi, Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump have had a telephone conversation for more than 90 minutes. The discussion focused on a temporary ceasefire in Ukraine on the occasion of Victory Day, which is celebrated in Russia on 9 May, and the continuation of the nuclear agreement with Iran. Putin has warned the United States and Israel against new military action in the Middle East. In addition, Trump has expressed hope for an early resolution of the Ukraine crisis.
