Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Released After Protest Outside PM's Residence

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, along with party MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, have been released by the Delhi Police. During the protest outside the Prime Minister's residence, the Delhi Police removed them and Rahul Gandhi was taken to Chhatrasal Stadium. Several Congress MPs were present at the protest with Rahul Gandhi, but Shashi Tharoor did not attend. Now he explains why he was not seen at the protest outside the PMO residence. Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor and Sonia Gandhi had reached the Mandir Marg police station. Party general secretary and MP Priyanka Gandhi was kept there. Shashi Tharoor said that he did not attend the sit-in because he was in a meeting. Several opposition leaders had marched from Parliament House against the police action on July 20 during the CJP protest. The march reached the Prime Minister's residence and then all the leaders sat on a dharna there. Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh arrived to talk to him, but the conversation remained inconclusive. After this, the protesters were asked to move away from the PM's residence, but Rahul Gandhi refused.
