Rahul Gandhi Slams BJP's Proposed Delimitation as Betrayal of Tamil Nadu's Future

Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the proposed delimitation. He alleged that it was a deliberate attempt to weaken Tamil Nadu's political strength and reduce the state's influence in Parliament. Addressing a training programme of Tamil Nadu District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents, Gandhi said that despite having done well in population control for decades, efforts were being made to deny Tamil Nadu its due representation. Rahul Gandhi said that the delimitation was designed to rob the people of Tamil Nadu of their strength. It was a conspiracy by the BJP. There was a character called Ettappan in Tamil history who is seen as a symbol of betrayal. Whoever supports delimitation is betraying Tamil Nadu and its future. No Tamil person should support delimitation. Every national party has to be "humiliated" and "humiliated" by history.
