Rajasthan Corruption Scandal Rocks Politics as IAS-IPS Couple Accused of Misusing Power

The serious allegations of corruption against the senior IAS and IPS couple in Rajasthan have now started politics in the state. The allegations may be on the officer couple, but the opposition is targeting the Bhajan Lal Sharma government of the state. The Congress party is questioning why the government is not taking any action on the allegations against the IAS officer who was in the Chief Minister's Office until a few days ago. Is there a role of people holding high positions in the government? The officers who are under the allegations are on foreign tours these days, while the BJP on the back foot is running away from the whole case. Significantly, Rajasthan's Additional Chief Secretary Senior IAS officer Shikhar Agarwal and his IPS wife Prashakha Mathur are accused of using their position to buy forty villas and cottages in the name of themselves and other family members from the same company in two and a half years. Some of these properties have been purchased by the officers in their own name. Some in the name of their children and the rest in the name of the family.
