Rajasthan Urban Body Elections: Congress and BJP Engage in Blame Game Over Sagwara Municipality Chairmanship

The political temperature is rising in Rajasthan over the urban body elections. The electoral contest between the Congress and the BJP in Sagwara Municipality of Dungarpur district has now reached a blame game. Senior Congress leader and AICC member Dinesh Khodaniya hit out at the BJP after the name of Bhumika Panchal surfaced for the post of chairperson on behalf of the Congress. In response, BJP MLA from Sagwara Shankarlal Decha issued a press note and countered the Congress's allegations. After the statements of the leaders of both parties, the political debate has intensified over the post of chairperson in Sagwara Municipality. While the Congress is claiming to give a clear message about the face of its chairperson, the BJP MLA says that the chairman in his party is not decided in the name of a single person but with the opinion and consent of the elected councillors. During the press conference held at the Surabhi Congress office in Sagwara, the name of the role of the 35 Congress corporators was announced as the president of the post.
