Rajasthan's Uniform Civil Code Drafting Committee Faces Boycott from Congress Party

The committee formed to prepare the draft UCC in Rajasthan will conduct a public hearing from July 10. It will start from the capital Jaipur. The Congress party has announced a boycott of this public hearing. Congress party state president Govind Singh Dotasara says that it is completely wrong to hold a public hearing and seek public opinion without deciding the points of the proposed draft. Congress leader has demanded the cancellation of the public hearing starting from July 10. He says that the Bhajan Lal Sharma government wants to throw Rajasthan into the fire of communalism on the pretext of the Uniform Civil Code. It wants to work to divide people by spreading hatred. There is no need for a Uniform Civil Code here, but the government is unnecessarily making political bread and butter in its name. State president Govind Singh Dotasara says that the Congress party boycotts the public hearing to be held in the capital Jaipur as well as in the entire state.
