Rajinikanth Denies Secret Mediation Between DMK and AIADMK

Chennai: Politics and cinema in South India took a new turn on Sunday when megastar Rajinikanth appeared before the media and put an end to all speculations against him. After getting a fractured mandate in the Tamil Nadu Assembly election results, there was a strong buzz that Rajinikanth was trying to make a big political deal between the two arch-rivals DMK and AIADMK behind the scenes. As soon as these reports started doing the rounds, the superstar himself had to issue an official clarification. Addressing a crowd of journalists at his private residence in Garden, Thalaiva called all the rumours and viral video claims baseless. He said in a stern tone that he had no such intention and was not playing a mediating role for any party. He also added in the press conference that his name was being misrepresented in the volatile situation after the elections, which also led to a break in secret meetings between the opposition camps. Rajini and Joseph, the current political leadership of the state, were also in the news.
