Rebel TMC MPs Eye Defection from Mamata Banerjee's Party

Former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who ruled West Bengal for 15 years, is now seen to be losing her own party Trinamool Congress. More than 20 TMC MPs are now on the verge of leaving the party and are talking about supporting the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Alliance (NDA). Rebel TMC MPs have held a meeting at the house of Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav on Sunday (June 14, 2026). After which Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, one of the rebel TMC MPs, said that we will meet Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla tomorrow (June 15, 2026) and demand recognition from him as a separate faction. 14 to 15 rebel Trinamool Congress (TMC) MPs are reported to be present in the meeting held at the residence of Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav. In this, MPs Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Sayoni Ghosh, Mala Roy, Satabdi Roy, Sharmila Sarkar, Supriya Bandyopadhyay, Jagdish Partha, Bhowmik Chakraborty and several other TMC MPs are now said to be close to Mamata Banerjee.
