Russia Warns Against Military Aid to Ukraine, Accuses Zelenskyy of 'Terrorist Nature'

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at the weekly press briefing that Moscow has repeatedly conveyed to Washington that sending military equipment and weapons to Ukraine could have serious consequences. According to Zakharova, such military assistance could threaten regional and global stability. She reiterated that the Russian military considers arms shipments from Western countries to Ukraine to be legitimate military targets. Russia has previously called for such convoys to be targeted. Russia resents Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's June 19 statement that he is ready to order an attack on some rebroadcasting stations in Belarus near the border with Ukraine if they are not removed. Zakharova said such statements highlight Zelenskyy's "terrorist nature." The Russian Foreign Ministry alleges that Russia wants to draw Belarus into the 2025 war and that Belarus is a key part of its security strategy.
