Sam Curran May Return to England Cricket Team Soon, Says Selector

The England Cricket Board announced their squad for the next two Tests against Pakistan on 6 August. Star all-rounder Sam Curran missed these two opening Tests due to a lack of fitness. However, the selectors said that he could return to the team if he was fit by the third Test. Had he been fully fit, he could have been included in the squad for the first two matches as well. According to England Cricket Team Selector Marcus North, Sam Curran could return to Test cricket soon. Currently, he has not been named in the squad for the matches against Pakistan, as he is not fully fit and his fitness is being monitored. Sam Curran made his Test debut at the age of 19 and played a total of 24 Tests between 2018 and 2021. However, he has been out of the Test team since then. Most of his focus for the last five years has been on white-ball cricket, but Stokes can be considered for the third Test against Pakistan, starting on 9 September.
