Samajwadi Party MLA's Dramatic Escape Amid Anti-Government Protest in Kanpur

During the Samajwadi Party's 24-hour anti-government protest in Kanpur city on Wednesday, there was a scene that caught the attention of the people present at the spot. Samajwadi Party MLA Amitabh Bajpai, dressed in a black T-shirt and black jeans, suddenly ran out of a corner of the police barricading. Policemen also ran after him. For a moment, the atmosphere was like a filmy chase scene. The workers present there also ran after the MLA and a crowd of people gathered to see the whole development. The Samajwadi Party had declared a 24-hour protest against the government's policies. The police administration was already on alert in view of the protest. The police force was deployed outside the houses of other SP MLAs, including MLA Amitabh Bajpai. Party leaders allege that they were effectively put under house arrest to prevent them from joining the protest. When Amitabh Bajpai walked out of his residence in the morning, a large number of police officers and supporters of the MLA shouted slogans against the government.
