Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan Sign Trilateral Defence Agreement

In the midst of five months of intense conflict in West Asia, a development has emerged on the table of diplomacy that claims to shake the equations of international politics. At a high-level meeting on Saudi Arabian soil, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif have joined hands to give birth to a new trilateral defence agreement, dubbed the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement. The agreement has come into the global limelight because the basic mantra of this so-called agreement has been coined on the lines of NATO's famous Article 5, i.e.'Attack on One, Attack on All '. According to Pakistan's foreign ministry's presumptuous statements, the objective of this agreement is to realize collective security, under which an armed attack on any one of the three sovereign nations will be considered an attack on all three. Now there is no repetition of the fact that Saudi Arabia's treasury on one side, Turkey's on the other side, is the biggest waster in its defence industry and that it has reached its nadiral status.
