Local MLA and BJP candidate Shankar Ghosh has threatened to go to Siliguri to seek justice instead of being confined to a cable dharna. He alleged that the police are not giving due importance to the case as the family is very poor and comes from a marginalized area. He issued a stern warning to the administration: "Those who are being saved by the Trinamool police today, after the dissolution of the Trinamool government on May 4, 2026, everyone's role will be discussed."
