Shankar Ghosh Threatens to Take Protest to All 33 Wards of Siliguri Assembly

Local MLA and BJP candidate Shankar Ghosh has threatened to go to Siliguri to seek justice instead of being confined to a cable dharna. On Thursday, he made it clear from the protest stage that he will go around all the 33 wards of the Siliguri assembly from Saturday. He also gave a message to continue the movement by spending the night in every ward if necessary. Shankar Ghosh, who has been sitting on a dharna in Siliguri for the last 50 hours demanding justice for the minor girl's death and the arrest of the main accused, a home tutor. However, on Thursday, he hinted at a change in the pattern of his movement. At a press conference today, Shankar Ghosh sharply attacked the police and the state government. He alleged that the police are not giving due importance to the case as the family is very poor and comes from a marginalized area. He issued a stern warning to the administration: "Those who are being saved by the Trinamool police today, after the dissolution of the Trinamool government on May 4, 2026, everyone's role will be discussed."
