Shiv Sena Corporator Arrested for Assaulting Doctors at Government Hospital

Ramesh Mhatre, a Shiv Sena corporator, was arrested on Wednesday (July 8) in connection with the assault on doctors at a government hospital. The hospital is run by the civic body in Thane district. It is alleged that on Monday evening, when a family was advised to take a newborn to another hospital in Kalyan, Mhatre and his colleagues assaulted two doctors and other staff. The video of the incident went viral on social media. Now, after Ramesh Mhatre's arrest, the opposition is constantly attacking the state government. The ruling party has also strongly condemned the incident and assured strict action against the culprits. The police have registered an FIR in this case and arrested 3 accused. DCP Atul Jhende has also confirmed the action. After the incident, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Aaditya Thackeray reached Shastri Nagar Hospital and met the doctors. After this, he strongly criticized the incident and said that the doctor should be removed from the parade.
