Shiv Sena Crisis: Lok Sabha Recognizes Rebel MPs, Boosts Eknath Shinde's Power

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has given recognition to 6 MPs who left Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena along with Eknath Shinde. This is considered to be a big political setback for Uddhav Thackeray. Eknath Shinde's strength has increased from Maharashtra to Delhi with the arrival of 6 MPs from Shiv Sena UBT. After Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla recognized the joining of 6 rebel MPs from Uddhav Thackeray's faction in Shinde's faction, all the MPs will remain in their posts. Under the anti-defection law, the rebel group needed the support of 6 out of 9 MPs or two-thirds to avoid disqualification in the Lok Sabha. All the MPs had already crossed this barrier with the arrival of 6 MPs together in Shinde's faction. With this, Shiv Sena Shinde's faction now has 13 MPs in the Lok Sabha. Uddhav Thackeray's faction has only 3 MPs left.
