Shiv Sena Dispute Reaches Supreme Court as Both Factions Prepare for Final Argument

Eknath Shinde, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, led the biggest rebellion within the Shiv Sena in 2022. He walked out with 40 MLAs and directly challenged the Shiv Sena leadership i.e. Uddhav Thackeray. When the dispute between the two parties went to the door of the Election Commission, the Election Commission gave both the name Shiv Sena and the bow and arrow with the party symbol to Eknath Shinde. Eknath Shinde was the Chief Minister of Maharashtra from June 2022 to October 2024. Now he is the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Meanwhile, the Shiv Sena's dispute has reached the Supreme Court. The case has not been decided for the last three years. Now both the factions are ready for the final argument, but the court has given the next date. On Thursday, Kapil Sibal argued on behalf of Shiv Sena. Both the factions have shown readiness for the final argument. However, after hearing both the sides, the Supreme Court has now said that the next date of hearing. In the original 2022 Shiv Sena defection, 40 MLAs including the then Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, have resigned from the Maha Vikas Aghadi government.
